US Leading Economic Index Rises in April

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for the U.S. rose in April to 113.3, a gain of 1.6 percent. This followed a March increase of 1.3 percent and a February dip of .1 percent. This welcome gain means the index has surpassed its previous peak (January 2020), which marks a complete recovery from its contraction at the beginning of the covid pandemic. Breaking the Covid Interviewing Experience

Q2 Hiring Activity: Continued Green Shoots

global payroll outlookManpower Group has released its Employment Outlook Survey for the upcoming quarter. Globally, hiring activity remains generally positive, although at a slower pace than this time a year ago. Employers in 43 countries participated in the survey, with payroll gains anticipated in 31 of those countries. Declines are expected in ten countries while two countries expect no change.
