As a member engagement specialist with NPAworldwide, I spend my days talking to recruiters about their jobs, their candidates, and connecting them to other NPA members who may be able to help them with their reqs. After I clock out, it doesn’t mean work is over… I have a 2.5 year old son. Currently, his favorite book is the classic Goodnight Moon. I’ve read it so many times, that I thought it would be fun to re-write it as an ode to recruiters everywhere.
Goodnight Recruiters
by Liz Carey, NPAworldwide
In the executive staffing firm’s office,
There was a telephone ringing off the hook,
And a Red Bull and coffee,
And a pile of paperwork-
Due to that recent fall-off.
And there were 300 e-mail messages sitting in your inbox,
and two purple squirrels that your clients want from you,
and a pair of internal recruiters hunting for them too.
And a hiring exec,
Giving you more open reqs,
And a call, and a pre-screen, and an on-site interview…
But then the candidate went quiet, ghosting you.
Goodnight office.
Goodnight resumes,
Goodnight candidate playing you for a raise.
Goodnight client who takes forever to pay.
Goodnight e-mails,
Goodnight InMail.
Goodnight purple squirrels,
and Goodnight referrals.
Goodnight caffeine,
and Goodnight pre-screen.
Goodnight hiring exec,
and Goodnight another 5 reqs.
Goodnight ATS,
and Goodnight job ad views.
Goodnight network,
Goodnight conference that you must get to,
and Goodnight to the candidate ghosting you.
Goodnight marketing campaigns,
Goodnight computer glare,
Goodnight recruiters, everywhere.
Hey Liz this was so creative and entertaining! Thanks for sharing😀
