Where do you find yourself this 2015 holiday season? While trying to close deals, make connections and tie up loose ends—are you giving presents or being present? Which is more important to you as a recruiter?
Presents are taking the time to send a nice gift to a client. Presents are tangible, something you can give a business partner or an associate.
Presence can be working late hours, trying to close final deals of the year, or helping a trading partner with a search. Your presence can be seen as an investment to your trading partners and recruitment firm. When your partners count on your skills, contacts and knowledge, being present is key. This presence doesn’t always have to be by proximity either: phone calls, text messages and emails are sufficient in most cases. Giving your time, support and presence to a trading partner is truly a gift!
It can be difficult to have a presence all the time with work, endless lists, multi-tasking, and other obligations. We are all stretched far. But if you remember what a priceless value your presence has, all the time commitments are worth it.
Whether you are giving presents or presence this season, your clients and firm appreciate your expertise, knowledge, dedication and time in the process of recruitment.
