GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – March 25, 2022 – The independent recruitment industry is experiencing a continued rise in demand and success. NPAworldwide, a global network of recruiters, has asked its members to document their recent successes. A full 70% of respondents reported improved business results for the past 6 months with 27% reporting that they were “significantly” more successful than 180 days ago.
“In the last 6 months, recruiters have experienced strong demand and good success for their services,” said Dave Nerz, president of NPAworldwide. “While the first half of 2021 was quite positive, the rebound in the back half of 2021 was significant. Responses, which arrived in advance of the Russian actions in Ukraine and the resulting spikes in stock market volatility and surges in oil prices, show a very optimistic view for the next 6 month period. It is clear that business is attempting to move forward on hiring talent.”
Other results of this survey of the 550-plus independent members of NPAworldwide indicated:
- 38 percent of survey respondents are from outside of North America
- North America represented 62% of respondents, with the next largest respondent group from Australia/New Zealand at 14%
- The remaining respondents were from Asia, EMEA or LatAm
- At the time of the survey, 79% of the respondents had a positive outlook for results over the next 6 months
- 36% of those taking the survey have seen fees increase in the last 6 months
“The strongest sectors were reported as technology, manufacturing/supply chain, and accounting/finance. Our independent member firms working these segments expect continued strength and growth in these sectors,” commented Nerz. “With many employers now adjusted to work from home and partially-remote work assignments, the complexity of hiring is smoothing. We have moved from partial paralysis on the hiring front to full engagement by employers. Many candidates are receiving multiple offers and employers that are slow to act will invest much in the search and get little in results. There is still significant opportunity to refine and improve decisionmaking and interviewing procedures that expend time to offer on top talent.”
The NPAworldwide Business Barometer Survey is completed by the independent recruitment firm owner/members of the network. Members are asked to document business results and predict future results that are representative of the independent recruitment industry.
